My Brand New Blog!

Hi everyone and welcome back to Allison in Wonderland!  I hope you’re having a wonderful December and have some fun, holiday plans to look forward to in the next couple weeks!  Today, I have a very special post about some big changes that are coming to my blog so let’s get into it!

Over the past month or so, I’ve been working on a secret project and am now excited to announce that my blog is newly self-hosted!  Basically that means that instead of being on WordPress.com, I’ve switched to WordPress.org which allows me to own my URL without the wordpress.com at the end.  If you head over to allisantmyer.com, you’ll be able to see everything I’ve been working hard on!  A company called Blogerize reached out to me and I just couldn’t pass up their wonderful design skills!  My new blog has so many features that I’ve wanted to incorporate for a long time and I’m so excited to share it with you all (there’s a little sneak peak below)!  I hope you love it as much as I do.

Going along with that news, I also have to address the fact that I won’t be posting on my WordPress.com site anymore.  All my content from allisonsantmyer.wordpress.com was transferred to allisantmyer.com, so everything I’ve written up until this point will still remain on both sites.  The only catch is that all my new, weekly content will only be posted on allisantmyer.com.  I’d love it if you would keep up with me on my new site through this transition and I can’t wait to see what you all think!

I’ll be posting again in a few days with a Christmas haul so be sure to check back to see some of the gifts I got from my friends and family!  Thanks for reading!

Holiday Outfit Ideas ft. Tailored Curls

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!  I hope all my college-aged readers are making it through finals week; you’re almost done!  For this week’s post, Maddie, from the blog Tailored Curls and I thought it’d be fun to show you a couple easy holiday party outfit ideas.  With Christmas and New Year’s right around the corner, you’re bound to have at least one party to go to!  I hope you enjoy!

The first outfit is one that kind of came together accidentally.  I was planning on just wearing the dress and tights but it was so cold, I had to figure something else out!  Luckily for me, layering is warm and trendy so I threw on a white sweater from American Eagle and I was good to go!  The dress that’s peeking out at the bottom is a beautiful, sleeveless dress from Urban Outfitters.  This dress works for almost any occasion, no matter what season we’re in, and it’s comfy too!  Underneath, I have some fleece-lined tights to keep me extra warm on those chilly December days and to top it off, I wore a pair of platform heels from LC Lauren Conrad.  This look has so many layers and interesting parts about it, I just love how it turned out!

The next outfit I wore is only to be worn if you’re definitely going to be inside all night, haha!  Although I was absolutely freezing (and getting strange looks from people), I had to include it because it’s an outfit comprised of two of my favorite things: dresses and vests!  I’ve recently been obsessed with little black dresses and this one is no exception!  I got it from a little shop in Williamsburg, VA called Three Sisters Boutique and have been dying to wear it ever since.  Overtop, I threw on an adorable fur vest from Altar’d State and slipped back into my black heels that completed the look!

Shop Secrets ft. evy + ro

Hey cuties and welcome back to the blog!  I hope you’re having a wonderful month so far; I can’t believe we’re so close to Christmas already!  Today, I have an adorable, local shop to share with you and I can’t wait to see what you think!  It’s the perfect addition to all that holiday shopping we’ve been up to recently.  Keep reading to find out more!

The shop I’m featuring today is in Chesapeake City, Maryland and it’s called evy + ro.  evy + ro is a shop that’s a jack-of-all-trades.  They have clothing, they have home decor, they have jewelry… they have everything!  I came across it when I was wandering around the shops in Chesapeake City and I’m so glad I did!  Their style is very shabby chic and falls right in line with the trends that women are all about these days!

In talking with Lauren, the owner, I learned they’ve only been open for a little over a year but you’d never know it!  They have so many fun, cute items in the store, it seems like they’ve been around for years.  Lauren opened the shop after realizing she had an eye for decorating on a budget and she wanted to share that with the community; how cool!  I’d say she’s done a great job because I wanted to take home everything I saw!

When I was in the store, I purchased a hanging white, paper star for my apartment (you can see a little bit of it in the top right corner of the second photo) and I also got a string of firefly lights to put inside it.  It was extremely affordable and I’d never seen anything like it before!  That’s how a lot of their items are, cute and unique!

Another section of the store I loved was their bath and body section!  They had all sorts of sprays and lotions and soaps and they all smelled so good!  I also had to include a photo because I was dying over the lightbulb covered with the wire basket.  That’s so rustic and wonderful and I want to make one for myself!

Well, that about wraps it up for this week’s post.  I hope you’ll check out evy + ro if you’re visiting the area because it’s definitely worth the trip!  If you go, let me know in the comments and be sure to say hi to them for me!  Talk to you next week! 🙂
